Fictional campaign for a school project.
Role: Art Director
I worked together with another student designer Darren Senewiratne, to create create a campaign centred around Nikon’s Z-Series mirrorless cameras. The ask of the brief was to target affluent creatives looking to increase their online presence and influence them to choose Nikon cameras over smartphones.
As the art director of this project, I gave a unique vision to the project which focused on the importance of showing perspective. The execution of the campaign was based on the idea of showcasing a photographer being right-side up while the background is upside down. I made the decision to use the serif font Palatino to create a sense of sophistication which differentiates the target audience of modern creator apart from more casual demographics.
The digital campaign was executed through Instagram with the hashtag event #DefyNormal. This allows people to enter a contest sponsored by Nikon in which the best photographs chosen will be sent to a trip to Japan and win a Nikon Z-Series camera. After which, the photos taken during the trip will be featured on the Nikon socials.
